Many luxury vinyl plank floors are rated waterproof, which means water won't damage the planks themselves. Laminate ranges from water-resistant to waterproof-rated, depending on the product.

Do you supply and install vinyl plank flooring?
Yes. Model Home, Inc. supplies luxury vinyl plank and laminate and installs it, along with baseboards and transitions. Materials-only orders are also welcome.
How long does vinyl plank installation take?
About 1,000 square feet takes 2 to 3 working days when the subfloor is sound. Removing old tile or flattening grout lines adds a day or more. We'll confirm the schedule for your rooms when we quote.
What is the best flooring for dogs and pets?
Vinyl plank and scratch-rated laminate are the usual choices. Vinyl handles accidents and water better, while laminate generally resists claw scratches better. A textured, matte finish hides everyday wear on either.
What happens to vinyl plank flooring in a flood?
Waterproof-rated vinyl planks often survive standing water, but the water trapped underneath has to come out and the subfloor has to dry before the floor goes back down. Depending on the product, a click-together floor can sometimes be lifted, dried and reinstalled. We replace flooring after water damage, including on insurance-claim projects.
How do you clean luxury vinyl plank floors?
Sweep, or vacuum with the beater bar off, then damp-mop with a cleaner the manufacturer approves. Avoid steam mops, wax and abrasive pads unless the product's care guide allows them.
Can you install vinyl plank over tile?
Often, yes, if the tile is solidly bonded and flat. Grout lines may need to be filled or the surface leveled to meet the manufacturer's flatness requirement. We look at the existing floor when we review your project.
Can you match stair nosing for vinyl plank stairs?
Yes. We source matching stair nosing for many vinyl plank lines, and when a line has no matching profile we can have a piece custom-made. Send us the product name and photos of your stairs.
